The walls are going up on a second houseboat at Wards Cove on Fairview Avenue E.
The float for this houseboat arrived on April 14. It is located next to the first houseboat, which is also under construction, on the north end of the dock. The floa for that home arrived the week of Dec. 13 last year.
Joel Blair, director of real estate for Wards Cove, says he is anticipating the arrival of a third home by mid-June. That houseboat will be complete when it gets to Wards Cove. A fourth home is going through the design and permit process, he says.
Wards Cove has been redeveloping its historic waterfront location for several years, as we reported last year. Gone are the old docks and storage for the company’s fishing fleet, replaced by houseboat moorages, office space, a marina and a green street.
Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn joined the Eastlake community last August to celebrate completion of the green street and the Eastlake P-Patch’s expansion project.
