First houseboat float arrives at Wards Cove

UPDATE: This post has changed since it was first published. The slip numbers for the float that just arrived and the float coming in February were incorrect.

The first houseboat float has arrived at the Wards Cove dock. The float for slip number 8 arrived the week of Dec. 13.

Construction of the home atop the float will begin in the next few weeks, according Mary Durkan, the real estate agent representing the Wards Cove development.

A fourth slip on the dock, number 1, recently sold, according to Durkan’s e-mail. That makes a total of four slips sold at Wards Cove. The float for slip number 9 is being built off site and is expected to arrive in February. The float and house for slip number 11 are being built off site and are expected in March.

A total of 12 slips are being offered on the Wards Cove dock which was previously the site of the company’s offices and storage. Due to changes in shoreline laws, these may be the last new houseboat slips to be offered for sale on Lake Union.
