4 hurt in car accident on Eastlake late Thursday night

The Seattle Police Department reports that officers responded to a two-vehicle car crash just north of Newton on Eastlake about 11:10 p.m. Thursday evening.

SPD says a 60-year-old man was driving northbound on Eastlake in a 2000 Honda Civic with three passengers. He struck an unoccupied Jeep.

SPD’s blog says:

Two of the occupants of the Honda had to be extricated from the vehicle by the fire department.  All four occupants of the Honda were transported to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.  The suspect/driver is being investigated for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

No citations have yet been issued, which SPD says is standard procedure on accidents of this type. The accident is still under investigation.

Both SeattlePI.com and KOMO have reports and photos from the accident scene.
