Space Needle fireworks tonight; where in Eastlake will you be watching?

The annual New Year’s Eve fireworks display will be set off from the Space Needle at midnight tonight

Eastlake has good views of the Needle across Lake Union. Where will you be watching tonight? Where are the best public places to view the display?

Two come quickly to mind:

  • Lakeview Boulevard: Great views of city and the lake but parking is tight. Walk if you’re going up there.
  • Terry Pettus Park and NOAA shoreline: Located on the south end of the Eastlake, both of these lake-front spots should be prime viewing. Pettus Park is at E. Newton and Fairview E. NOAA is just south of there.

What other spots are good? Put a note in the comments to this post if you feel like sharing a good location.

If you’re watching from the Lake Union waterfront, be sure to respect the privacy of dock owners and don’t trespass. I’ll probably be standing on my deck, freezing, trying to see around the bare branches of the tree that stands at the end of the building.

Happy New Year!
